The creative work, ¡Latin Jazz! is a 50 minute radio documentary that was broadcast on ABC Classic FM. It looks at the evolution of Latin jazz from Spain, Cuba and the United States. It examines the social effects on the style and specifically on the syncretic movement between the countries. The documentary traces my travel to Madrid, Spain and looks at Latin jazz
This music is fun, quirky in style and ideal for a the theme song for a kids show, app or interactive game. It can be looped and starts with flute, bouncy bass and piano. I've begun to experiment with this concept of Time Lapse Recording. For years photographers have done this technique, but I was wondering what it would be like to record in one spot and to record slices of time. This is my first experiment. You'll be able to hear birds, cars and whipper snippers.
Buffle Books asked me to create all the sound design and music in their interactive app on the iPad. The brief was simple, make it so 3-5 year olds will engage and love this app! The sound was crucial for this and directly aimed at young children. The sound design and music had to be interactive and synchronised. The dialogue had to be individually processed
Breezeblock films asked me to do location sound and to compose original music for a promotional video of the Musculoskeletal Research Group at QUT's Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation. I created two versions, the standard version is on their website. The extended version will be shown in Boston at a medical conference showcasing their work.
